"It's the sort of music that, no matter whether you are performing it, or listening to it, it's a lot of fun, and very enchanting, with its own unique style."

Miryoku, or "enchanting," is the word that composer Yuki Kajiura chooses to describe the music of her vocal ensemble, Kalafina. But the girls call their mentor's style "Kaijura music," hinting that what really pulls their complex vocal talent together is their composer's unseen hand. "When working with Miss Kajiura, she'll call us out if she doesn't feel what we're singing, and tell us so," says Kalafina. So, Kajiura's a little stricter than she seems, is she? "You could say that," they say laughing, and Kajiura smiles knowingly.  ( more )
