44MAGNUM

The lights came up on stage as the members entered, all with English nicknames despite being a Japanese band, and vocalists Stevie and Paul opened with a classic ‘80s rock sound “I Just Can’t Take Anymore.” Guitarist Jimmy, and support bassist Shuse took off to the wings. They hyped up the crowd as the vocalists took front and center stage. Drummer Joe was the backbone of the song, creating a powerful and driving beat for the entirety of the number. “In the End” started with Stevie and Paul going back and forth, taking turns singing. The tempo was quicker than the first song and had more of a punk rock feel to it.

After their second song, they took some time to talk to the audience, making fun of each section in order to get them to scream out louder and louder until the stadium was filled with noise. Then Paul announced that this would be his final Jack in the Box and final event with 44Magnum. He thanked everyone and Jack in the Box for all of the years and memories. The audience was touched by this sudden announcement and there was a feeling of gratitude for the many years of music the vocalist had been part of creating.

After the announcement, they picked up the mood with an energetic beat, guitars leading the heavy, rolling sound of “Souls.” The audience headbanged through the chorus of the song and screamed out with Paul for the last time. Paul and Stevie ran back and forth, getting closer to the crowd and enjoying their last songs to the fullest. Bass and guitar had an active duet together, driving the crowd to the height of the song. “Street Rock’n Roller” kicked off with a rhythmic electric guitar and was interrupted with a loud scream from Paul. For their final song, “Satisfaction” was an appropriate choice. Probably the most classic rock song in their entire set, the entire audience was singing along. The guitar and drums were the leading elements, and the spotlight made Paul shine. The members gathered at center stage for the finale, headbanging together, and ending with a booming round of applause from the audience.
