Sixh. Fashion Live Report!
Two years ago, ROKKYUU's beta version debuted with a feature on Sixh.'s 2008 fashion live. When we saw they were at it again, we jumped at the opportunity to have them head up our rockin', stylin' relaunch!
Sixh.
Guitarist NARI and bassist MINT appeared with a nonchalant air, playfully messing around until vocalist IBI stalked up the cat walk, spinning to give the crowd a full view. He bowed regally, cuing the speedy beat of the opening number “Kouen.” While NARI wasted no time getting down to the music, MINT put up a wall of apathy. The fast-moving piece had IBI dancing across the stage and down the runway. A simple melody allowed IBI’s smooth voice to take precedence throughout and the final instrumental saw the vocalist lead a bout of headbanging. “Mizore,” a more sober affair kept IBI in place at his mic stand. The smooth ballad melody held an underlying darkness in the heavy guitar line. Taking over the vocals near the end, NARI’s harsh voice contrasted strongly with IBI’s smooth, deep tone, the differences emphasized as they harmonized in conclusion.
Heating it up with “Ueta Kemono,” NARI had the crowd throwing in yells with him after every few lyrics, IBI issuing a zealous cry that seemed unnaturally contrasted with his silky voice. Even through the hot, heavy interlude, MINT kept up the stoic demeanor, his enthusiasm revealed only through the puff balls bobbling about amidst his hair. Meanwhile, the crowd threw themselves back and forth with force, physically expressing the music.
When the lights dimmed and fans raised their voices to their favorite members, the band made an announcement. “The member with the most cat calls will grace you with an MC.” MINT was the undeniable champion and as promised, he greeted the crowd, talking about the two collections featured throughout the evening and making a series of announcements. He then let slip that Sixh. would be designing costumes for heidi.’s upcoming movie appearance.
A strong guitar melody filling up the introduction of “Mangetsu,” NARI screamed roughly into the mic to rile up the crowd. A fun, upbeat number, IBI had the crowd yelling and pumping their fists to the funky but unmistakable rock beat. “Hate Love” was an exciting piece with everyone screaming various renditions of “LOVE – HATE,” the vocalist executing an incredible vocal rise in pitch on the odd cry of “Love”. The technique was potentially disastrous but in fact superbly executed. He had the crowd in the palm of his hand, staggering loosely about the stage seducing both fans and members alike. A compelling instrumental once more drove bodies back and forth before another verse had NARI growling “LOVE – HATE” under the melody.
For the final number, “Minashigo,” IBI held up a Sixh. towel, the action mirrored amongst the crowd. With NARI’s yells, he started swinging, then taking over the yelling himself. Manipulating the towel like an expert, he certainly showed the crowd how it was done. This continued for a short while before a musical break then entered into a funky, fast paced number. IBI boxed the air rather sweetly in concert with the guitar’s accents. In the chorus, we heard the vocalist’s falsetto for the first time, the difference in sound quite drastic. Finishing up the number and the set, IBI sauntered up the runway, slowly sliding to his knees and then onto his back as he wailed the remainder of the number. “Have a great time until the end, okay?” he cried. “Thank you so much!” Breaking character just once with the completion of the set, MINT tossed a pick, laughing brightly.
Full of interesting musical developments and offering an extremely strong performance were the three front-men supported quietly by drummer Yuu. Cool and stoic MINT, rough and wild NARI, smooth and gothic IBI, these three contrasting characters expertly expressed through various outfits came together to make a unique sound with a little bit of everything.

Impromptu Q&A Session
The loose tone of the following talk evidently mirrored the atmosphere backstage. “Everyone’s just hanging around back there,” Ayukawa complained as he waited for the charisma models to respond to his summons. After Sena and Satsuki, it was IBI’s turn to be dragged out, and he brought along some company in the form of MINT and NARI. Eventually, the random conversation turned into a Q&A session for which Ayukawa announced that AOI should be present and proceeded to ensure that it was so.
What type of girls do each of you like?
IBI: Girls who get my kind of scene.
NARI: Girls with a kind smile.
MINT: Girls who treat me kindly.
Sena: I like girls who don’t worry about their appearances.
Ayukawa: I like girls with beautiful smiles.
AOI: I love the girls who are here right now.
Satsuki: I like bigger girls… with big boobs and butts.
Do something cool to make all the girls here scream.
This task fell to AOI who thought for a moment before striking a James Bond pose and crooning, “I was born to meet you who are present.”
