TRIGGAH Hits Rock Meikan for Sixth Edition of [LOUD ARMY CORPS]
On February 13, TRIGGAH presented some of their yet unreleased songs at Rock Meikan for the sixth edition of [LOUD ARMY CORPS], an event held by DUAL CORE SOUND ENTERPRISE with a variety of bands ready to rock Meikan.
Despite a brief history, TRIGGAH proved they mean business, combining melodic vocals with a heavy rock beat to potent drums, fast guitars, and a variation of compositions. The band’s fans took the front rows, ready for some serious headbanging and a gloomy intro began the set. A banner covered the wall behind the drums, the TRIGGAH logo standing out against the black in bright white letters.
The members made their entrances, YUSUKE on drums first, followed by TOMOZO on guitar, TAKE on bass, AIKA on guitar, and finally hajime on vocals, and then dove into “When I’m gone.” The heavy intro and deep growls set the mood for the rest of the performance, TOMOZO and AIKA headbanging earnestly in time with the crowd. The instrumentals were impressive with fast guitars and strikingly confident drums.
“ABYSS OF THE PSYCHE” brought the set down to business. If you don’t like songs that won’t leave your mind for hours after you hear them, then this song is not for you. The beat and chorus were simply addictive. TRIGGAH succeeded in taking full advantage of the stage, moving constantly as they incited the crowd to give it their all. Rolling fists accompanied the catchy tune, energetic choreography and fiery solos adding to the performance. After a brief, welcoming emcee, it was time for the yet-untitled “New song 2” which skillfully combined sweet singing with death metal growls in between heartbeats. The crowd kept thrashing heads and jumping to the fast guitars as YUSUKE’s thunderous drumming added an impulsive drive to the tune.
The show went from rage to determination with the next song. Opening with energetic clapping, the unnamed “New song 1” brought a lighter, yet determined tone to the performance. The tune recalled a speedy race as guitars and drums took off on a highway of sound. The hall pulsed with the crowd and the band frantically danced between pumping fists. A fiery growl announced “COLD RAIN.” The attractive music with a beat to killcombined skillfully for a memorable song that set the crowd on fire with its frantic moshing and headbanging. Hajime’s growls and TOMOZO and AIKA’s guitars did wonders in strengthening the tune, which was always supported by powerful drumming and gentle bass.
After a brief emcee during which the band thanked the crowd for their energy and announced the upcoming events, it was time for the newly released “DAZZLE.” Red lights took over and smoke enveloped the stage, welcoming powerful growls and impressive drum and guitar work. Like an army marching to battle, the crowd raised their fists up in time with the beat, heatedly shouting “Oi!”
The headbanging continued throughout “HATE,” ending the set explosively. While YUSUKE thrashed his head behind the drums, hajime graced the crowd with wild dancing. TOMOZO’s energy was unbeatable with the guitarist jumping and headbanging vigorously as he got lost in the beat, his long braids swinging dangerously as he moved. Roaring drums brought the show home fast and hard while the others thanked the fans and left the stage.
It was a promising performance and we look forward to more from the young but experienced members of TRIGGAH.
