Versailles Presents Tokyo Metropolis: Day 1, June 23

Live Report

by Diana Tome, , Maya Kawaguchi, posted August 17, 2012

Versailles celebrated five years on the road with a sold out two day show among friends and fans. The lineup was bombastic and unusual with Matenrou Opera, Kaya, DaizyStripper, Lin, D and Moi dix Mois igniting Liquid Room in an event that - the lucky ones present - will never forget.

Light and fun, the first day included young yet experienced bands that have had long relations to the show’s hosts. You may ask, how do DaizyStripper fit into this picture? Well, here is another question to consider: What cute name does KAMIJO call KISAKI by and who is KAMIJO’s (not so) secret darling? Keep reading and you will find out all this and more…

Diana Tome saw her life change when she came across X-Japan's Blue Blood. A big supporter of old school visual rock, she believes visual kei is a lifestyle and philosophy that goes beyond the clothing and the music. With a background in headhunting and psychotherapy, Diana completed her M.A. in Psychology from I.S.P.A. in Lisbon, Portugal. She now lives and works in Japan committed to keeping the VK/V-rock flame alive.

Maya Kawaguchi is a Japanese native who grew up in California. She was introduced to VK in college and soon became fascinated by the genre and nagoya-oriented bands in particular. Since then, she has been surprised by the number of foreigners who are interested in VK and hopes to introduce this world to as many potential fans as possible.
