When ROKKYUU’s re-launch date was rushed in during March 2011, our only frantic thoughts were to hurriedly prepare the articles we had been gathering in anticipation of the re-launch and to scrounge around for any news of charity events and projects being run in the visual kei scene. It wasn’t much—not at all—but after the chaos of March 11, getting the site up and running and spreading the word on what visual kei fans could do to help was the only thing we had to offer and it seemed a worthy cause. In the aftermath, we were still under-staffed, low on material, and the plans for the site were not 100% complete. It was a humble beginning and one that held more haste and rushed desperation than awe or excitement. Looking back on those first, hectic days, it’s truly inspiring to observe the wealth of talented staff now lending their time and efforts, to consider the fond co-operation of those we work together with in this industry, and to take in the warm support and friendship of our readers. ROKKYUU was founded on love and respect for the visual kei genre—music, clothes, and all—and we share that passion along with our readers.

In commemoration of the three years which have passed since the 2011 re-launch of ROKKYUU Magazine, we are holding a giveaway with prizes for 24 lucky winners! With the co-operation of bands across several sub-genres and a little fashion thrown into the mix, we hope that all of our readers will have good reason to participate!

Our mascots Hexe and Nia have also had a change of costume to celebrate the event! They’re looking forward to the giveaway, too! In fact, Nia has even set aside his guitar to take up a mic for a celebratory session!

All you have to do to enter the draw is to A) become a subscriber and B) fill out a short survey which will help us to better provide material you can enjoy.

(Note: Entry into the draw is dependent upon filling out the required fields, including postage address.) Submissions will be open until March 31 and the draw announced on April 2.

Now, before we give you a taster of the prizes you could win by entering, ROKKYUU Magazine would like to thank Acryl Bones, Duel Jewel, girugamesh, hide, METEOROID, Moran, MU, NINJAMAN JAPAN, and  THE MICRO HEAD 4N’S for their generous contributions! We also extend our gratitude to everyone who has shared this journey with us, whether you first logged on back in March of 2011, or whether you are joining us here at ROKKYUU for the first time at this very moment. We hope that you will continue to enjoy the visual kei experience right here alongside us.
