DaizyStripper Releases CROSSTRIP; Ecocap Charity = More than just pretty faces?
DaizyStripper
Still blazing their way through the oshare scene since the release of their first single Dandelion in 2008, DaizyStripper are already scheduled to release their first live DVD, CROSSTRIP, exactly one year from the date of its filming. The footage will feature the band’s sold-out September 9 oneman live at Takadanobaba AREA in 2008 and will be released on September 9 2009. CROSSTRIP will be available via Like an Edison’s online store (or CDJapan, stateside) and will cost 3,000 yen.
DaizyStripper have been on a roll with four singles since 2008, two of which merited a second press—evidence of the band’s runaway popularity. Their latest release was the June 3 2009 single Dearest, complete with a music video filmed live at their Stairway to the New World oneman in March 2009.
The band has been very busy performing at events all over Japan, including the 2008 Hide Memorial Summit. In fact, they wasted no time securing their first overseas performance at Otakon 2008 in America.

DaizyStripper’s activities haven’t been limited only to music, however. In March 2009, they asked fans to collect bottle caps so that the band could send the caps to Ecocap, an organisation devoted to funding distribution of the polio vaccine through recycling. Under the Ecocap program, eight hundred caps equals twenty yen, which in turn pays for one polio vaccine and has the potential to save one life. Even now, the band is continuing this charity activity, collecting caps at their live house merchandising stands.
With a heavy tour and event schedule planned throughout the remainder of 2009, DaizyStripper are on their way up in the visual kei indies world. The speedy release of their first live DVD is a promising indication of what we can expect from the band in the future. Plus, it’s nice to know that the band is more than just pretty faces.
