Erina To Leave Dio; Dio To Leave Red List; Hiatus To Follow

On July 29, Excited fans were shocked to learn that guitarist Erina plans to leave Dio Distraught on September 25 of this year. Though Erina gave many reasons why he feels he must leave the band, he stressed that after three years with the other members, certain musical differences are driving them apart. He intends to play out his remaining time as a member of Dio to the best of his ability, however. After Erina’s departs from the band in September, Dio will go on hiatus. How this will affect the European tour, which was finally reinstated, is still a mystery.
Despite that September 25 will mark Dio’s last performance with the current five-member lineup, the remaining four will persevere. (But they won’t be playing under the Red List Entertainment label.) No official statement has been made regarding activity following their final five-member live, aside from their plan to go on hiatus. Before the announcement, however, the band members gave no indication that anything might be amiss regarding the tour in Europe.
Vocalist Mikaru assured fans via his blog that Dio is not breaking up or else going on permanent hiatus. He also promised that Erina is not leaving the visual kei world for good, either. We’ll be keeping an eye out for new developments, so be sure to watch this spot!
