As part of their “Anomie plan,” Matenrou Opera have been posing as a band that goes by the name Anomie. Featured as a temporary “gift” on Anomie’s website was a wallpaper of the members of Matenrou Opera decked out in white. In fact, under “a crowd of Anomie” are profile pictures of the very same members with a new set of names. Slightly more mysterious is the numbering of members from 01 to 04, with Snow (Sono) left conspicuously without a number.

Every so often, “gifts” ranging from wallpapers to videos appear on the site with prior warning. So far, there have been three such gifts, but there’s no telling how long they will stay, as past gifts are no longer available. Make sure to keep checking the website for updates so as not to miss out.

As for the counter ticking down at the very top of Anomie’s homepage—dare we speculate that its slow descent will halt on the date of Matenrou Opera’s first oneman live, Dawn of Anomie, which takes place at Akasaka Blitz on July 23? The band’s first full album, Anomie was just released on June 24, including eight tracks and a second disc that features a music video entitled Anomie.
