Miyavi Cancels US Tour Dates
Miyavi
Miyavi’s concerts in Seattle, New York, Atlanta, and Dallas have all been cancelled, according to an announcement this morning on Miyavi’s official home page and MySpace blog. An acoustic live and signing scheduled at New People in Los Angeles on October 22 has also been cancelled. The official announcement cites entry permit problems, complications with scheduling for the US venues, and Miyavi’s health as causes for the cancellation. However, there are plans to reschedule the shows for later dates. Below is part of the official announcement:
It is with the greatest regret that we have to announce that Miyavi’s USA tour (scheduled to perform in Seattle, New York, Atlanta, and Dallas) has been cancelled, and will be rescheduled.
There has been problems which occurred regarding the band member’s entry permits, and complications that arose during the process of scheduling/booking of venues. Moreover, the condition of Miyavi’s health after an injury which occurred during the Europe tour, has not shown a favorable recovery.
Miyavi has been greatly looking forward to the USA leg of the tour, and is still strongly opposed to the idea of canceling the shows.
However, after consulting with a local doctor in Mexico of his injury and his health condition, we as a management have come to a decision that it is not feasible for Miyavi to continue, and is best for him to return to Japan immediately to seek medical treatment.
Miyavi posted a picture of the injury he sustained from falling off the stage at his concert in Toulouse, France on his MySpace blog, and has been posting about a persistent cold for the past few days. We wish him a speedy recovery, and look forward to the rescheduling of the concerts when he is feeling better.
