On May 22 2011, for the first time, MUCC came live to a computer near you and were viewed in 23 countries around the world direct from Budokan via Ustream Asia. With that roaring sucess, Sync Music Japan, a collaboration of Maverick and Ustream Asia, are at it again to make sure that this year’s special MUCC Day event can be enjoyed on an international level.

What’s MUCC Day? MUCC no hi as it’s called in Japan by the band’s loyal fans is June 9th, or 6/9, derived from the alternate ponounciation of 69: mukku. (Note the resemblance to the band’s name) Of course, in most countries, MUCC Day would fall on September 6th, but why not just celebrate both? With promises that “Maniac Parade 9711″ will be a memorable event by all accounts, tickets for the Shinkiba Studio Coast concert sold out in six minutes.  No matter. This year, you can enjoy MUCC Day live from accross the world.

Ringing in at ¥690 to match the theme of the day, streaming begins at various times according to location.

19:00 (Tokyo)

14:00 (Moscow)

12:00 (Paris)

11:00 (London)

MUCC, recently signed to Sony, have long been part of a small group of Japanese musicians noisily making waves into overseas markets, and have performed in over 100 overseas concerts over the past 14 years. The previously streamed “MUCC History GIGS 97~11″ featured a rundown of MUCC history, effectively reminding the older fans of their roots and catching new fans up to date from the heavier and more angura albums such as Zekuu and Antique, to the more recent electronica of Karma. With the Budokan titles “Chemical Parade” and “History GIGS 9711” combined into one, this special MUCC Day performance promises to be well worth your while.

In a direct quote, “There is no doubt that this live will be a ‘super’ live in many ways.” – Sync Music Japan.

Sales end on June 9th at the end of the concert. With two days left to purchase tickets, don’t miss this unique USTREAM viewing!

Of course, make sure to stop by ROKKYUU on your way to USTREAM on June(6)9th….

Sarah began her journey into the world of Japanese music courtesy of L'Arc-en-Ciel back in the year 2000. Since then, she has combined a love of music and music journalism into writing for European Japanese music magazines and assisting with Japanese interest events in the UK. After graduating in Law from the University of Nottingham, she put 'the law-thing' on the backburner to dive into the live scene in Tokyo for 3 years. Sarah returned to the UK in September 2010 to do that 'law-thing' and now works for a Japanese bank in London. Her heart is always in the music and fashion in Tokyo and her life is balanced between her time in the UK and Japan. When she has time, she also blogs at http://lifeismerodii.blogspot.com
