Since 2008, VanessA has released five singles. Now, approaching year two, they’re releasing yet another: “World is My Mind” (ワールド・イズ・マイ・マインド) , scheduled for November 11, 2009.

The single will include three songs for a price of 1,575 yen (or $18 USD):

  1. NEW WORLD.
  2. ジャック・オフ (“Jack Off”)
  3. アクシナー (“Actioner”)

VanessA’s healthy schedule of event lives leading up to the end of the year include performances at either HOLIDAY Shinjuku or Takadanobaba AREA throughout October and November, as well as an appearance at Shinjuku RUIDO K4 on December 14. If you get a chance to attend these lives, it might be worth it just to check out the band’s merchandise stand, where members of the band have been known to make an appearance.

VanessA have garnered a loyal following despite the fact that they’ve only release singles thus far, particularly among European VK circles. Perhaps this is due to their tendency to use English words, either Romanized or in Katakana. To date, only one song title was written in Kanji, with the suffix “-retrospection” immediately thereafter.

The band’s new look features some decidedly European touches: Guitarist, Toki sports a pipe in the latest promotional shots, while vocalist Genki’s fingers are decked out in delicate black lace.

With everything in place, dare we hope for an overseas tour in the near future?
