defspiral Heat Up For Album Release With Electrifying New Single

With an album in the works, defspiral have put music into motion with another strong single. Lotus features five tracks including the traditional instrumental tracks for those instrumental music/karaoke enthusiasts. The middle of the single, however, belongs to the live recording of the band’s hit number, SALVAGE. The recording was made at the heated 2nd anniversary concert, DFS. Check out ROKYUU’s live report for more details. Meanwhile, the main course is divided into two complimentary dishes, “LOTUS” and “MISTY.”

The title track is true to the band’s reckless, rock style with subtle electronic influences that run a volt of electricity through the piece. Exciting drums, guitars and vocals keep the positive charge high throughout without a dull moment. This is one of those rare pieces that could rock a dance club all night yet not betray the fundamentals of rock.

Following such satisfying cuisine is the rich “MISTY.” The opening tune is entrancing with a powerful, mystifying lilt that sets up for the deep vocal verse. TAKA’s grungy tones are ripe to send tingles down the spine when paired with that warm yet rough musical track. In fact, while “LOTUS” stands alone well as an instrumental track, “MISTY” is perhaps the band’s greatest musical feast so far, a track that would make instrumental rock masters Ra:IN proud.
