Promoters handling the D’espairsRay Russian tour dates recently cancelled concerts in both Moscow and St. Petersburg without permission from the band’s management. The promotion company, [RUSSIAN J-ROCK COMMUNITY], is claiming breach of contract. According to the email sent out to fan club members, the band claims that they tried to contact the promoters immediately after the problem occurred, but communication was cut off from the other end. As a result, they were unable to reach a compromise with the promotion company.

Though the St. Petersburg concert appears to have been dropped, the good news is that the band is searching for another promoter to handle Moscow in the hopes that purchased tickets will remain valid. The Moscow concert is scheduled for the September 26, 2009. However, the tickets went on sale at the end of June, giving fans plenty of time to snatch them up before this unfortunate occurrence. The problem seems to extend only to Russia as there have been no cancellations pertaining to other dates in the European tour.

Find more information on the D’espairsRay official website as it becomes available. For now, all we can do is hope for the best and continue supporting the band in its efforts to reach Russian fans.

P.S. Thankfully, Russian fans have D’espairsRay’s September 9 single, Final Call, to look forward to. Details have yet to be announced, so stay tuned.
